No Surprises Act
The No Surprises Act is a federal law designed to protect you from unexpected medical bills when you are uninsured or self-paying for services. If you are planning to be self-pay, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the expected cost of services prior to the start of treatment based on initial evaluation of your treatment needs. This estimate will include the expected cost of therapeutic treatment and any applicable fees, which allows you to understand and plan for financial aspects of treatment. If your treatment plan changes or you are in need of additional services, and updated GFE will be provided to you. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill.
